2015-2016 Classroom Reveal

The moment everyone's I've been waiting for all summer....my classroom reveal! Hahaha. I have actually been so busy this summer with teaching summer school, tutoring, volunteering, and moving that I haven't had time to think about my classroom until a few weeks ago. I don't have much to say seeing as how I'm pretty much exhausted from the work I put in today. Hopefully the pictures in this post will speak for themselves. Please let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions/questions. I'm looking forward to anther exciting year of teaching 7th grade Language Arts...even if it is in a classroom with no window that's in the front of the school. LOL. :)

Door - Kept it simple this year.

Library area - "The Living Room"
I have colored index cards on the bookshelf and students will be able to write book reviews and put them on the board behind the couch.

I haven't labeled these yet, but this is where students will get homework, absent work, and sheets to replenish items in their binder, such as data sheets, reading logs, etc.

Other side of bookshelf...Scrabble, Word With Friends, board games, and Jenga (green crate).

Technology Station

These are two of my personal computers I purchased last year since my school doesn't provide student computers in the classroom. I also have two personal iPods and an iPad that I use in this station.

Instagram board and a few reference posters

I'm going to let the students bring in pictures to post on the board. I'll start it off with a few pictures from last year.

  1. I love your "living room"! I'm so tempted to get a couch or futon as part of my alternative seating, but my high schoolers make me nervous about couches lol. It looks fabulous, as usual! It's organizers and labelers have to stick together! :)

    1. Thank you, Krisanna! I actually found the couch on one of those local online Faceboook garage sale sites. It looks new and came with a big comfy chair and nice ottoman for just $100. I made a siting area in my bedroom with the chair and ottoman! :) LOL about high schoolers with a couch. Maybe I should add rule #5 - "No fornicating on the couch." Hahaha!

    1. Thanks, Suzanna! I purchased it from Demco. They have different sizes. Mine is 11x8 feet and it was $450. Here's the link: http://demco.com/goto?BLS183417&ALL0000&es=20150807070654867974
